Guidelines for submitting event/story of experience on racism and discrimination to UN-ANDI

Following the issuance of a survey and report on racism and discrimination affecting UN-ANDI members in October 2023, UN-ANDI is collecting experiences of members who wish to provide a fuller perspective on their experience.

The survey contained a section for limited comments - we are reaching out for further feedback on those comments if members wish to provide more or fuller details. Members who did not participate in the survey can also provide input. We encourage anyone interested to reach out to us at UN-ANDI (email address: info@un-andi.org).We are interested in collecting a wide range of experiences so that we can compile these as a follow-up to the survey and report that provide insight into the lived experiences of UN-ANDI members. These can then be highlighted for further discussions with management in improving the situation of Asian people as well as in our publications and website.

General guidelines for input:

It can be provided in any creative format, i.e. drawings/pictures, modern media piece, written (prose, poem etc.). We encourage you to use your own words/expression to highlight how the experience made you feel.
Maximum 1 A-4 page per experience – we recognize there can be more than one experience members may wish to highlight: up to 3 experiences per member can be sent to us.
Input can be sent to us with a request for it to be considered anonymously.
Input should contain an acknowledgement in the email, that it is accepted that the input may be edited by UN-ANDI and further used by UN-ANDI for the purposes highlighted above.
Input can be requested to be anonymized or with first name/initials depending on preference.

Deadline for submissions: Please send requests for submissions by 15 February 2025.

After UN-ANDI receives the submissions, we will review all submissions with a view to determine how to compile them and inform the membership how we will proceed. If sufficient submissions are received, we will look into preparing a small compilation (in e-format) that can be shared
